The cubs braved the weather to hike out from Minnis Bay on Thursday. Spirits were high and they set off at a good pace with Akela and Monty the dog taking the lead. On the way their map reading skills were tested and they learnt how to locate themselves on a map and pick out landmarks, some more realistic than others (one Cub thought they could see Buckingham Palace!) Unfortunately the planned route had to be abandoned due to time so we returned the same way. On the way back the cubs lead the singing with renditions from the show at full volume-they still have talent!
Well done to you all, this goes towards your hikes award.
